Throwback – Our past April Fools posts

| By Frank Geelen | 1 min read |

Team Monochrome has arrived back home from an exhausting Baselworld fair. Tom traveled back home on Sunday, Brice, Robin and I arrived back home on Tuesday night, and Xavier added an extra day of Baselworld madness before he returned home on Wednesday night. And while the rest of the team recovered from the blisters on their feet, and the overall fatigue, my schedule was (again) packed with meetings, including the recording of today’s radioshow at Business News Radio. And guess what… I completely forgot that today is the first of April. So to make up for that, a throwback to our previous April Fools posts.

Here we go… our first April Fools post, of course written by our columnist extraordinaire, Mario Squillacioti: Rolex leak their new 44mm titanium Submariner.

In 2014 we skipped the fun of an April Fools post, however in 2015 Mario was back with his inimitable wit. The Crown was again subject of this annual fun, and the topic concerned smart watches: Rolex joins smart watch race!

And last year Mario touched upon the touchy topic of the smart watch and the honor of being our April Fools subject went to Apple: Apple announces stopping the Apple Watch – cracked under pressure of the Swiss watch industry.

Yesterday we posted Xavier’s Baselworld Top 10 and next week we’ll post the respective top 10’s of Brice and I. We hope to give you an overview of our highlights, after ‘digesting’ everything we saw during the more then 150 meeting with brands during the fair. In the mean time, you can read up on all Baselworld news here.
